Spring is bringing fresh new German films to the Big Apple. The next edition of KINO! 2015 is presenting ten new features and the German Short Film Night programme from 9-16 April in the Cinema Village, New York. Five guests will present their works in person at the festival, while panel discussions will complement the programme. KINO! is organised by German Films

The movies, selected by three representatives of the New York film scene, cover a wide cross-section of German productions, ranging from moving drama to suspense-laden genre thriller, and from an original children's film to an adventurous road trip.

The opening title, to screen in Tribeca Cinemas on 9 April 2015, is Christian Zübert's Tour de force [+see also:

(Majestic Filmproduktion), a tragicomedy with a top-notch acting ensemble led by Florian David Fitz, which was previously shown at several international festivals, including Locarno and Toronto. Zübert will present his movie in person.

Another prestigious festival guest will be Hannah Herzsprung, who appears in Baran bo Odar's Who Am I – No System is Safe [+see also:

(Wiedemann & Berg Film). Director Mark Monheim will travel to New York for a discussion on About a Girl [+see also:

(Imbissfilm). Producer Philipp Budweg will attend the screening of the family film The Pasta Detectives.

The accompanying programme, put together in collaboration with the Deutsches Haus of the New York University and the Goethe Institute in New York, includes a panel discussion on the documentary Beltracchi: The Art of Forgery [+see also:

An Audience Award is being presented at the festival for the first time this year; the audience can vote for their favourite film online via the festival website.
