02/04/2015 - The pair of actors topline David Charhon’s film, which is being produced by Rectangle and is set to be distributed by Wild Bunch

Written by David Charhon and Maxime Motte (based on an original screenplay by Nicolas Saada), the story revolves around Jean-Louis Brochard, a bank manager who is responsible for a huge scam that shakes the world of finance to its core. Fleeing France under a false identity to dodge his imminent arrest, he flies off to Antigua, a tax haven in the Caribbean, where he expects to recoup several million euros. But he finds himself stuck there during his lay-over owing to the impending arrival of a hurricane, and is consequently forced to share a small private jet with William Boulanger, a man originally from the French department of Jura who has been jilted by his fiancée in the middle of his honeymoon. After flying into a fierce storm, their little plane crash-lands on an utterly wild and hostile desert island. The two castaways, constantly engaged in a power struggle, incapable of helping one another, and dying of thirst and hunger, will each fashion their own individual raft in order to get out of this hellhole without ever setting eyes on each other again. But the island will have a surprise in store for them that will bond them forevermore… 

Produced by Edouard Weil for Rectangle Productions, Les naufragés has a budget of €15 million, which includes co-productions by Wild Bunch (which will handle the distribution), Orange Studio, TF1 Films Productions and Belgian outfit Scope Pictures. The movie has also been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+.
