Next meeting of the CULT committee set for 16 April
- The European Parliament’s CULT committee will meet on 16 April to vote on the European Social Fund, copyright and the TTIP

The president of the Committee on Culture and Education (CULT), Silvia Costa, has announced the agenda of the next meeting of the CULT committee, which will take place on 16 April.
The committee will gather to debate and vote on topical issues revolving around the possibility of increasing the initial pre-financing amount paid to operational programmes supported by the Youth Employment Initiative; the harmonisation of certain aspects of copyright and related rights in the information society; and recommendations to the European Commission on the negotiations for the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
The committee will review Directive 2001/29/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2001, in order to counteract the fragmentation of national copyright laws among member states with regard to the three main areas of the directive: reproduction rights, right of communication and distribution rights.
Finally, the meeting will focus on the negotiations initiated in July 2013 for the TTIP, the trade and investment agreement between the United States and the European Union to further liberalise all sectors of the transatlantic economy.
The meeting can be followed live via webstreaming.
