French international sales agent Les Films du Losange (managed by Margaret Menegoz) is heading to the Film Market of the 68th Cannes Film Festival (13-24 May 2014), where it will be negotiating deals on the Croisette for such titles as the Swiss-French co-production Amnesia [+see also:

by Barbet Schroeder, which will be premiered at an Official Selection special screening. With a cast including Marthe Keller, Max Riemelt and Bruno Ganz, the film is set on Ibiza, in the same house where the director shot his feature debut, More (1969), a restored version of which (also being sold by Les Films du Losange) will be presented in Cannes Classics.

The team headed by Agathe Valentin will also kick off pre-sales for Things to Come by Mia Hansen-Love at Cannes. Produced by Charles Gillibert for CG Cinéma and already backed by Arte France Cinéma and the CNC’s advance on receipts, the movie starring Isabelle Huppert and André Marcon will begin shooting in June. (unveiled last year at Toronto and in competition at San Sebastian) will revolve around Nathalie and Heinz, two philosophy teachers who have been married for many years and who have two grown-up children. Nathalie devotes her time to the books she publishes, to her former students who have now become her friends, and especially to her over-possessive mother. As a couple, Nathalie and Heinz are more closely attached by habit and their shared intellectual interests than they are by the love between them, which has fizzled out over the years. One day, Heinz tells Nathalie that he has fallen in love with another woman and that he is moving in with her. At exactly the same time, Nathalie is faced with her mother’s death. Is this the start of a new life? Nathalie is alone and the summer is just beginning. What will it be like?
