Italo-Indian joint venture

Gianni Profita, head of the Italian Film Office, today illustrated a new joint venture between Italy and India that includes an exchange of production services and facilities, and opens the way for a co-production deal that is likely to be signed at the next Venice Film Festival.
Three Italian projects developed in India were also presented: Lezioni di Volo (Flying Lessons) starring Sophie Marceau, directed by Francesca Archibugi and produced by Cattleya, is the story of a young Indian woman who lives in Rome but rediscovers her Indian identity and falls in love after a visit to her native land; Christmas in Bombay, which after last year's Egyptian location, is set in India and produced by Filmauro, and an as-yet unnamed feature that was to have been directed by Gabriele Salvatores, but which will now become the directorial debut of Attilio Spinelli and produced by Gam Film.
