film profile] by Ivo Trajkov as its submission for the Best Foreign-language Film at the 88th Academy Awards.
The political thriller is set over one night in the early 1990s, during the celebration of the national holiday of the newly established independent state of the Republic of Macedonia, which coincides with the tenth wedding anniversary of the Deputy Prime Minister and his wife, played by Nikola Ristanovski (The Reaper [+see also:

Honey Night is a co-production between Macedonia's Kaval Film, Slovenia's A Atalanta, and the Czech Republic's I/O Post and Soundsquare.
