Short wins Student Oscar
German film student, Florian Baxmeyer has won a Student Academy Award for his short film entitled Die rote Jacke, about a boy who escaped the horrors of civil war Sarajevo. The film was first presented at the Vienna Film Academy Festival.
“After the Oscar itself, this is the highest award a director can hope to win for a short film,” said Baxmeyer, who is employed by German pubcaster, ARD. The Student Oscars will be presented on 8 June in Los Angeles.
