A committee decided on these nominations based on a list of films provided by Cartoon, the European Association of Animation Film, as well as individual film submissions. The committee consisted of EFA Board Member and producer Antonio Saura (Spain), animation experts Marcel Jean (Canada) and Anja Šošić (Poland), as well as Petteri Pasanen (Finland), Iain Harvey (UK) and Jacques-Rémy Girerd (France), representing Cartoon. The films will soon be submitted to the over 3,000 EFA members to elect the winner, which will then be presented with the prize at the European Film Awards ceremony in Berlin on Saturday, 12 December.
