'Slam… dunks' to Europe!

by

Based in the US and Europe, Slamdunks LCC announced it was embarking on film production in Europe. Created as a distributor and producer, the group also has an important US film marketing division.
Slamdunks rented a yacht off the Croisette where they are holding a series of events, promotions and industry and artists' meetings. Justin W. Henry (Slamdunks LCC), Christophe Servell (Slamdunks Europe) and Thomas Hodges (Constellation Capital) announced a new initiative: producing films with international appeal through two of the group's subsidiaries: European Entertainment Pictures (2EP) and Ciné Factory.
The group will also be focusing on finance: private US investor, Constellation Capital L.P., will be assigned a €80m budget and will guarantee investors at least 50% of film budgets for the next six years.
Headed up by Christophe Servell, 2EP is working on a number of ambitious medium-budget (€15m) English-language projects that will be directed by Europeans with international casts. The novelty, and one of the weakest links of the European production chain, is financing in the development stage of a project: up to 30% of the budget. A committee of finance and film industry experts including Jean-Louis Rubin (former CEO of Fox International) and Marl A. Curcio (former CEO of Artisan Entertainment) will select the projects that will subsequently be distributed in the US by Slamdunks LCC. Ciné Factory will produce smaller films, in the region of €2m, the only condition being that they are shot in HD DV.
