Eurochannel to celebrate “Lithuanian Month” in November
- The TV channel is set to broadcast Lithuanian films to over 85 territories
During November, Eurochannel, the award-winning television channel, will present its first Lithuanian Month, supported by the Lithuanian Film Center. It will broadcast five fiction feature films, three documentaries and six shorts, and all productions will appear in localised, subtitled versions, including English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Serbian, Polish, Albanian, Estonian and Korean.
“The Lithuanian Film Center has launched a co-operation with a worldwide TV channel for the first time. It is a significant effort to enlarge the audience of Lithuanian films. We very much appreciate Eurochannel’s professional approach to this project, and I am sure that the programme will expand the fan base of Lithuanian films,” said Rolandas Kvietkauskas, director of the Lithuanian Film Center.
The films will include The Fortress of Sleeping Butterflies by Algimantas Puipa, which presents an enlightening story of self-discovery through the eyes of a heartbroken woman. Meanwhile, Back To Your Arms by Kristijonas Vildziunas showcases a humbling true story of a father and daughter trying to reunite amid Cold War tensions, and Golden Globe winner Jeremy Irons narrates the poignant documentary Endless Corridor by Mindaugas Urbonavičius, which recounts the tragedy suffered by Azerbaijanis in 1992.
