The disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi is an affair with thorny ramifications that are still very current. It was on 22 June 1983 that Emanuela, the daughter of a clerk at the Prefecture of the Papal Household, disappeared under mysterious circumstances at the age of 15. Her disappearance provides an opportunity to tell the story of how the pyramid of crime that took root in the Italian capital soon after was born.

“Although film is always fiction”, stated Roberto Faenza, “every event recounted here is supported by rigorous documentation, and by confirmed accounts from various inquiries that led to final judgments. As Shakespeare would say, everything in this story is so incredibly true that it seems impossible. This story has been waiting to be told for 30 years, and now the moment has come”.

, the film about Pope Bergoglio directed by Daniele Luchetti, which will be released on 3 December (see article). Faenza maintains that the project was his idea and is claiming damages of over €400 thousand.
