Writer/Director Polly Steele (Lena: Bride of Ice) has commenced principal photography at Surrey locations on Let Me Go [+see also:

, based on Helga Schneider’s memoir of the same name. The film follows four generations of women impacted by the decision of Schneider’s mother Traudi’s decision to walk out on her family and join the Nazi SS during World War II where she trained to be a concentration camp guard and was assigned to the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp.

The cast is led by four-time BAFTA nominee Juliet Stevenson (Departure [+see also:

David Broder (Some People Don't Get Football, I Don’t Get Those People) and Lizzie Pickering are producing for In Trust Films, a company newly founded by them along with Steele and Executive Producer Georges Tsitos.

After a three-week stint in Surrey, the production will move to London and then on to Vienna. The film’s composer is Philip Selway, drummer for iconic band Radiohead. Cinematography is by Michael Wood (Stop at Nothing: The Lance Armstrong Story) and editing by Daniel Goddard (The Arbor [+see also:

Steele said, “We are thrilled to be making a truly independent film with extraordinary female leads as well as an amazing crew made up of 50% women. The time has come for this story to be told and we are very excited to be bringing it to the screen."
