Rimini is to have a museum dedicated to Federico Fellini. Vittorio Boario, the founding member of the Bologna Municipal Film Libray and now also president of the Fellini Foundation announced the news in Cannes today. “The main theme of this permanent exhibition will be Fellini’s relationship between fantasy and reality.” The Museum will be set up in the Fellini family home.
This is also the day that France’s most important film event has dedicated to Italy and especially the “Hommage à Fellini”, on the tenth anniversary of the great man’s death. The programme includes a review of his entire body of work screening at the Palais, and in several Cannes cinemas, accompanied by Nino Rota and Nicola Piovani’s legendary musical scores playing in the background. The Fellini Foundation announced they were undertaking a major restoration programme of his films and memory, an exhibit of costumes from his film and the purchase of Fellini’s “Book of Dreams”, a notebook of Fellini’s writing and sketches.
