11/02/2016 - Prague will soon be the host city for the East Doc Platform, organised by the Institute of Documentary Film and One World IHRFF

Within a month, Prague will once again become the perfect place to be for all creative documentary filmmakers and enthusiasts. For the fifth time, the Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) will organise the East Doc Platform event in association with One World IHRFF. This key industry meeting of CEE documentarists with acclaimed decision makers and experts will offer a series of thought-provoking master classes, screenings, panel discussions, public presentations and networking events.

A total of 37 projects were selected to take part in fourstapleprogrammes and compete for awards: the nine projects selected (read more) to participate in the East European Forum (workshop, public pitching and round-table sessions) will be joined by 12 projects that were developed within the Ex Oriente Film workshop.

Sixteen projects (read more) will take part in Project Market, comprising one-on-one meetings with decision makers that can bring essential future co-operations and support to the participants.

The third edition of the transmedia-focused programme, Doc Tank, will present seven projects (read more).

A programme novelty, the presentation Czech Docs…Coming Soon will introduce five upcoming Czech documentaries to an audience of invited representatives of prestigious international festivals.

The motto of this year’s edition of the EDP is “Sight Specific", expressing both the diversity of creative approaches to a topic and revealing one of the focuses of the programme – site-specific screenings as an alternative form of distribution and encouraging author-audience dialogue.
