film profile] – Norway’s (and Scandinavia’s) first disaster movie, which last year lured 832,649 local cinemagoers into the theatres, and was last week (10 March) released in the US by Magnolia Pictures – received four Cannon Awards when the Norwegian film industry celebrated its 2015 releases. 

At the Kosmorama International Film Festival in Trondheim, which ended yesterday (13 March), The Wave won for Best Actor (Kristoffer Joner), Best Production Design (Lina Nordqvist), Best Producers (Martin Sundland and Are Heidenstrøm) and Best Editing (Christian Siebenherz) after the vote by the members of the unions and associations of Norwegian actors, directors, film workers, producers, composers, sound designers and playwrights.

film profile] – Norway’s first contender for the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 36 years, which will be launched in America on 8 April by Orchard Distribution – came in second, with three prizes: Best Director (Trier), Best Original Screenplay (Eskil Vogt and Trier) and Best Cinematography (Jakob Ihre).
