In celebration of its "50+5" anniversary, the Grand Prix at the 2016 Critics’ Week, the 55th edition of which will unspool from 12-20 May as part of the 69th Cannes Film Festival, will be handed out by an exceptional jury comprising five remarkable filmmakers who have risen to fame in the Week over the last five years. 

The job of chairing the jury will be entrusted to French director Valérie Donzelli, who opened the Week in 2011 with Declaration of War [+see also:

. She is stepping into the shoes of Lee Chang-dong, Bertrand Bonello, Miguel Gomes, Andrea Arnold and Ronit Elkabetz, all of whom have chaired the jury in the past.

She will be supported by her fellow countrywoman Alice Winocour (who shot to fame in 2011 with Augustine [+see also:

The jury will also give out the Revelation Prize for feature debuts and the Discovery Award that will single out a short film in competition in the Critics’ Week.

The 2016 Critics’ Week selection will be unveiled on 18 April.
