"Gosford" scribe’s directorial debut
- Oscar-winner Tom Wilkinson and two-time Academy nominee Emily Watson to star in "A Way Through the Woods" by Julian Fellowes, who's also writing the adaptation
British writer Julian Fellowes, winner of the best original screenplay Oscar in 2002 for Robert Altman’s Gosford Park is to make his directorial feature debut with A Way Through the Woods based on Nigel Balchin’s eponymous novel that Fellowes is adapting for the screen.
The film stars Tom Wilkinson - nominated for a best actor Oscar in 2002 for the drama In The Bedroom - and Emily Watson - a two-time best actress Oscar nominee for Breaking the Waves (1996) and again in 1998 for Hilary and Jackie - as a married couple whose equilibrium is upset when a third party joins the relationship. A Way Through the Woods will be produced by Paul Smith’s Celador Productions.
