#ConUnPack launched to support independent film

#ConUnPack Distribución is a bold new initiative by consultants Hugo Serra (also a producer and teacher) and JJ Montero (a journalist, broadcaster, programmer and cultural-event coordinator) in conjunction with youfeelm, the collaborative theatrical film-on-demand platform (which boasts a catalogue of 200 titles and 50 cinemas all over Spain). In this way, its managers are offering an alternative, efficient and reliable distribution channel for the myriad film productions initiated outside of the standard system, in a Spanish production landscape that is increasingly polarised and in a state of constant change and development, where the most alternative and daring films find it hard to find the best channels for their marketing, distribution and exhibition.

One of the advantages of this new distribution outfit will be the advice and backing provided to producers right from the very inception of a project, throughout its entire production process, and up until the final exhibition phase across the various windows: movie theatres, VoD, home video, the cultural and museum circuit, festival presence and international sales. This is because #ConUnPack will encompass aspects such as consultancy, strategy, promotion, press, marketing and theatrical distribution, thus aiming to achieve the best possible results for the exhibition of its titles.

For the publishing and distribution of home video, the distributor has signed an exclusivity agreement with 39 Escalones Films, and as for its editorial policy, it will mainly focus on fiction and documentary films aimed at an adult, urban audience – not just those of Madrid and Barcelona, but also those in other cities where there is a healthy interest in watching distinctive, specialised and audacious cinematic offerings. A final objective of the company is to reinforce the circulation of short films.
