to The Revenant. “First I started to work with 22-year-old Doroteja, one of the most promising and talented young Slovenian actresses, currently in the last year of the film academy in Ljubljana,” Prosenc told Cineuropa. “And in August 2016, we did some test shooting with both Doroteja and Kristoffer. The experience convinced us that we should work together on this film. They are both excellent actors and perfect for the roles."

, Slovenia’s selection for the 2016 Oscars. The Tree had its world premiere at Karlovy Vary IFF in 2014 as part of the East of the West Competition, was the big winner at the Slovenian Film Festival and was awarded the Youth Jury Award at Film by the Sea that same year.

Thanks to the success of her first film, her latest project, History of Love, is already highly anticipated. Set up as a contemporary psychological drama, the film tells the story of a girl who, after the death of her mother, submerges herself in a world completely different from the one she is used to in order to come to terms with her new reality.

So far, History of Love has received a better than warm reception from film professionals – the film was the big winner at this year’s When East Meets West (WEMW) film forum in Trieste in January, where it was one of 20 projects from amongst more than 300 applicants: it received the EAVE Scholarship as well as the TRL Espresso Award, granting it automatic selection for Rome's New Cinema Network co-production market and also the Film London PFM this October. At WEMW, the film also received support from the RE-ACT Co-Development Funding Scheme, the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund, the Slovenian Film Centre and the Croatian Audiovisual Centre. With Prosenc's new project, DoP Mitja Ličen also took part in this year’s Berlinale Talents.

Prosenc wrote the screenplay and will produce the film alongside Rok Sečen for Monoo. History of Love has received support from the Slovenian Film Centre, with filming scheduled for the summer of 2017.
