EFP announces the selected participants for Producers on the Move 2016
by Cineuropa
- 20 of the most energetic emerging European producers will take part in European Film Promotion’s networking platform at the Cannes Film Festival from 14–17 May

20 emerging producers have been selected by European Film Promotion (EFP) and its member organisations for the 17th edition of the high-profile networking platform Producers on the Move at the Cannes Film Festival. The event, to be held from 14–17 May, has received financial support from the Creative Europe – Media Programme and EFP member organisations.
Owing to the success of last year’s exclusive group of the most dynamic emerging producers, this year’s edition has again limited the number of participants to 20, as the high standards of the programme ensure a very effective working atmosphere and long-lasting pan-European business relations. Since last year, the stakes for participants have also noticeably increased, including the key requirements of having experience in international co-productions and an international theatrical release, even if they are still at the beginning of their careers. The participants will take part in round-table project presentations, one-on-one speed-dating pitches, case studies of successful projects in cooperation with the Eurimages co-production fund, and other events that will help them to find partners for their upcoming projects and will strengthen their industry networking opportunities.
Producers on the Move is an excellent, sustainable platform for exchanging ideas and creating successful partnerships, where the producer’s potential is recognised. This will be proven at this year’s Cannes festival, with 22 films by former EFP programme participants featuring in the various sections of the festival.
