Registration now open for the fifth Biennale College - Cinema
- Participation is open to teams of directors making their first or second film, and producers who have produced at least three audiovisual products; the deadline for applications is 1 July 2016

The Venice Film Festival has opened the international call for participation for the fifth edition of Biennale College - Cinema, the lab for developing and producing micro-budget audiovisual works, which is open to a maximum of 12 teams of emerging directors and producers from around the world.
The deadline for applications is 1 July 2016. Participation is open to teams of directors making their first or second film, and producers who have produced at least three audiovisual products distributed and/or screened at festivals. The selection of the 12 projects will be announced during the 73rd Venice Film Festival (31 August-10 September 2016).
Three of these projects (one of which must be Italian) will then be selected to take part in the subsequent phases, to be developed and produced with a contribution of €150,000 and then presented at the 2017 Venice Film Festival. They will also be screened online via the Sala Web, the virtual screening room that complements the traditional screening venues on the Lido.
Over its first four years of existence, the Biennale College - Cinema has brought 17 movies to fruition. The complete text of the call for participation is available here.
