The Norwegian cinematographic world has issued its first response to the announcement of a reduction in funding for production support, a decision that was made last week by Stein Slyngstad, the director of Norsk filmfond . The trade unions’ of directors, producers, actors and allied industries have organised a protest march to take place in Oslo tomorrow at 13:00, to rally support against the 20% cut in the number of films to receive funding in 2004.
But for the moment, this “dark side of success” doesn’t seem to have had a bearing on the performance of films on the international markets.
