The 7th edition of Documentary in Europe, organised by the Documentary in Europe association and the European documentary network (EDN) will take place in Bardonecchia (Turin) on 9-12 July 2003.
Some 250 industry operators and TV and film production companies from all over Europe are scheduled to attend. This year’s key issues are: investigative documentaries; new forms of expression for creative documentaries; video archives; a special session about documentaries in the cinema; a test for the public.
Highlights also include a matchmaking forum where filmmakers and writers are given the opportunity to present and discuss their projects to independent European producers and those taking part will be prepared for this by a prior intensive workshop held by a group of commissioning editors on 8-9 July; and a pitching forum where ideas for new documentaries will be examined and discussed by pre-eminent commissioning editors from some of the world’s most important TV networks and stations.
Furthermore, 16 documentary makers will take part in a Mediamatic Summer Workshop about interactive narration using the Korsakov system in Bardonecchia from 5-10 July.
The deadline for submission of projects is 30 May 2003 while subscriptions will be accepted up to 27 June 2003. Full details can be downloaded from the above-mentioned web site.
