North-South meetings

The European Coordination of Film Festivals association is organising a seminar on June 19 and 20 in Brussels to discuss the relations between European and Southern film festivals, with the aim of creating more cooperation between the events. The discussions are being divided into 4 themes:
- Programming, prints, costs, broadcasting rights and circulation of films;
- Exchange of information and experience;
- The drawing up of an ethical code and
- Youngsters and training.

This seminar will bring together members of the European Commission and film directors, along with representatives of festivals throughout the world, including Baba Hama (Fespaco - Burkina Faso), Bassek Ba Kobhio (Ecrans Noirs du Cinéma Francophone – Cameroon), Philip Cheah (Singapore Festival), Zita Carvalhosa (San Paolo Festival in Brazil), Thom Palmen (Umea Festival – Sweden), Jean-Pierre Garcia (Amiens Festival – France), André Ceuterick (Mons Love Film Festival – Belgium) and Jean-Marie Barbe (Lussas Festival– France).
