Visioni Incontra: a new industry section for documentary professionals

For its second edition, the ‘A Window on the World – Images from Reality’ International Documentary Festival, which will be held from 5 to 9 October 2016, will feature a new industry section: Visioni Incontra, dedicated to Italian work-in-progress documentary projects.

Organised in partnership with the Lombardy Film Commission, the new section will select Italian documentary films currently being made, with a particular emphasis on contemporary reality, presenting them in a pitching session to an audience of industry professionals made up of television commissioning editors, distributors, independent producers, sales agents, directors and organisers of Italian and international festivals, and making individual appointments with each of these. Visioni Incontra will also provide an opportunity to explore the audiovisual scene through round tables and presentations.

To participate in the Visioni Incontra section, which will be held over the first two days of the Festival (on 5 and 6 October), you must fill out the pre-selection form available on the website, in the industry section. Applications along with the relative projects must be sent in by 31 July 2016. Projects must be submitted by independent producers and must have already found funding for 40% of their provisional budget. A panel of experts will award the prize of €2,500 to the best work-in-progress documentary.

The ‘A Window on the World – Images from Reality’ International Documentary Festival is organised by UniCredit Pavilion and production company FRANKIESHOWBIZ, with the support of Rai Cinema, in cooperation with the Istituto Luce-Cinecittà and Doc/it – the Italian Documentary Association.
