17/06/2016 - This year’s Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (1-9 July) will welcome John Carpenter as guest of honour and will open itself up to a new international market: Latin America

Once again this year, the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival will shine a spotlight on the best that international – and, for the first time, Swiss – genre film has to offer. A suggestive new section entitled Amazing Switzerland will invite Neuchâtel audiences to watch Swiss genre films from a fresh, new point of view (read the news). 

A rich programme lies in store for audiences at the 16^th edition of the gathering, which offers both old and new sections, such as the international competition; New Cinema from Asia; Films of the Third Kind; Ultra Movies, dedicated to the year’s most astonishing thrillers; Histoire de genre, an eye-opening journey through genre film via previously unseen documentaries, including three by legendary French director and film critic Yves Montmayeur (Dragon Girls!, his latest effort, will be presented as a world premiere); and the new El Dorado section, which is devoted to Latin American genre film.
