by

The 26th edition of the Kortfilmfestivalen opened yesterday in Grimstad, Norway. This year there are 80 short films in competition, 53 of which are from Norway, as well as 13 documentaries.
Over the last few years this event has become the most important showcase for debutants and independent Norwegian directors, but there is also space for filmmakers from around the world, with a programme containing sections dedicated to documentaries, experimental videos, retrospectives, historical films and productions from the archives.

The Swedish art director and artist, Carl Johan De Geer, who’s worked with directors like Jan Troell, Gösta Ekman and Lukas Moodysson, will be introducing a debate about the digital workshop developed by Peter Doyle, while the Norwegian director, Jan Knutzen will the guest at a seminar about the 30 years of the Volda Film School.
This year, the Kortfilmfestivalen will be presenting the premiere of the cinematographic version of Blind Film, a series of 6 narrative works produced for a blind audience.
The festival closes on Tuesday June 17.
