PRODUCTION Belgium

Advent of Tribu Films

by

Namur, the Walloon capital has a new film company. Tribu Films was set up by five young professionals to handle every stage of the film production process, from the inception of a project, to the screenplay and casting of the crew.
Namur is celebrated for its extremely close ties to the Belgian film industry and is also the home town of actors Benoît Poelvoorde and Cécile de France, directors Benoît Mariage, Xavier Diskeuve, Inès Rabadan and Daniel Hiquet, film editor, Philippe Bourgueil and producers Hubert Toint and Dominique Janne. Now Namur, already a veritable nursery for film talents, has been further enriched by the advent of this new company whose activities will attract productions to the region with a consequent positive knock-on effect on the local economy.
The five co-founders of Tribu Films will each head up a dedicated department: Gilles Bombaert and Nicolas Pruvot will head up cinematography, Maroussia Buysse – lighting, Véronique Jadin – direction and Pierre Foulon - producing. Three fellow "Namurians", Benoît Mariage, Philippe Bourgueil and Hugues Danze will act as consultants and advisers. Tribu Films will be officially launched on the evening of 21 June at the Cinema Forum in Namur. For ulterior information, you are invited to email: tribu.films@caramail.com.
