Five new titles get the Netherlands Film Fund’s support

- New films by Clara van Gool, Pim van Hoeve and Sacha Polak are among the selected projects
The Netherlands Film Fund has announced that it is granting its support to three new fiction features and two new documentaries, via funding totalling €1.88 million.

film profile], Clara van Gool’s adaptation of the novel of the same name by American author Henry James, which is being allocated €500,000. Topkapi Films is receiving €550,000 to wrap Pim van Hoeve’s new film, Gek van Oranje, which is set against the backdrop of the World Cup, as all of the characters surrender to the so-called “Orange Fever”. film profile] (working title: Jade) is getting €575,000: the story of a woman whose face is disfigured by an acid attack is being produced by Viking Film and EMU Films (UK), and it has also received the support of the British Film Institute.
Production outfit Pieter van Huystee Film & TV is receiving €120,000 for the making of the documentary The Mystery of the Little Prince by Marjoleine Boonstra, which focuses on five enthusiastic translators of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s classic book. Finally, the documentary More Human than Human by duo Femke Wolting and Tommy Pallotta is being allocated €135,000. This Submarine production explores the promises that artificial intelligence provides to humanity and the consequences this entails when those promises become reality.
