French co-production at Sunny-Side
The goal? To encourage the co-production of films by Belgian, French, Swiss and French Canadian companies. To that end, the Belgian organisation that deals with promoting domestic films at international festivals, Wallonie Bruxelles Images (WBI), is jointly organising a forum dedicated to French-language co-productions at the Sunny-Side of the Docs Festival in Marseilles from 26-29 June.
WBI and its partners in this forum: Sodec (Company for the Development of Cultural Enterprise in Quebec), TV France International, il Swiss Film Centre and Titra Film, will bring 38 production and 8 distribution companies to the Faro building in Marseille on Wednesday 25 June, when 25 projects will be presented.
The Belgian contingent includes one distributor, RTBF and seven producers: Kathleen de Bethune (Simple Production), Christine Pireaux (Les Films de la Passerelle), Françoise Levie (Memento Production), Geneviève De Bauw (Thank You & Good Night Productions), Thierry Detaille (CBA / WIP), Philippe Axell (Axell Communication) and Willy Perelsztejn (Les Films de la Mémoire). The latter two will present two projects entitled, respectively, 1624 du Hainaut à Manhattan and Yiddish Soul.
