André van Duren’s latest film, The Fury [+see also:

The film marks the return of van Duren to the Canadian showcase, where he has previously presented The Gang of Oss.
Released in Dutch theatres last March, The Fury earned lead actress Hannah Hoekstra rave reviews for her role as “Tidy Tini”, a sharp-tongued woman suffering from mysophobia.
Based on the novel of the same name by A F Th van der Heijden, The Fury is a tragi-comedy centring on the relationship between Tini and her nephew, Albert. As a boy, Albert spied on her and tried desperately to understand what she meant by her semi-explicit fault-finding. But once he becomes a father himself, he seems set for a major confrontation in which all family secrets are finally revealed.
