Zrinko Ogresta takes On the Other Side to the Oscars

The Croatian Filmmakers' Association (HDFD) has selected Zrinko Ogresta's On the Other Side [+see also:

film profile] as the country's candidate for the Academy Award for Best Foreign-language Film.
The drama-thriller written by Mate Matišić and Ogresta, and starring Ksenija Marinković and Lazar Ristovski, co-produced by Croatia's Interfilm and Serbia's Zillion Film, world-premiered in the Berlinale's Panorama, where it won a Europa Cinemas Label Special Mention. It went on to win three awards at Belgrade FEST, including Best Minority Co-production, and swept the Croatian national awards at the Pula Film Festival, winning eight Golden Arenas, including Best Film, Director, Screenplay, Actor and Actress. It has also been selected as one of the 50 feature films vying for the European Film Awards.
