- The grant will be awarded with a cash prize of €20,000 for the majority producer of the winning project

The Conference of Ibero-American Cinematographic Authorities (CAACI) and the association of the European Film Agency Directors (EFADs) have agreed to launch a jointly funded co-development grant at the 64th San Sebastián Film Festival this year.
The aim of the EFADs-CAACI Europe-Latin America Co-Production Grant is to build a structured partnership between Europe and Latin-America in the field of culture and between their respective film industries. Peter Dinges, president of the EFADs, explained that “both regions share a passion for culture and a common vision on cultural diversity and identity. The grant is designed to encourage more collaboration and to increase the number of genuine artistic co-productions between Latin America and Europe.”
As the San Sebastián Film Festival is one of the biggest film events in Europe, and its Industry Club already fosters the development of film projects between Europe and Latin America, it has been decided that the first EFADs-CAACI Co-Production Grant will be awarded at the 5th Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum taking place on the 19, 20 and 21 September (read news).
This grant will be awarded with a cash prize of €20,000 for the majority producer of the winning project. An independent international jury will choose the winner from the projects selected to participate in the Forum.
