Oscar-winning film director and chair of the British Film Institute, Anthony Minghella announced that for the next three years, the London Film Festival will be known as The Times bfi London Film Festival after a sponsorship deal was struck with the London Times newspaper.
He added that in order to avoid clashes with Italy’s MIFED and to bring it closer to the BAFTAs and the Oscar nominations, the festival would run from 22 October to 6 November.
