The future looks rosy for the Munich-based production slate. Currently in post-production, one of Cinerenta's most important titles is The Human Stain, starring Anthony Hopkins and Nicole Kidman, and based on Philip Roth’s eponymous novel about racism. The film will premiere in Venice and then be released in the US.
Cinerenta also produced The Magician’s Wife, a US$35m film with a stellar Hollywood cast, directed by Canada’s François Gerard and based on a real life event that took place prior to the outbreak of the Franco-Algerian war in the 1800s. The feature is scheduled to go into production at the Berlin-based Babelsberg Studios.
