TRAINING UK

Audiovisual training in Scotland

by

The Glasgow Media Access Centre is organising a series of courses for film and audiovisual industry operators during June and July.
Scheduled for 25 and 26 June, Holger Mohaupt will hold Avid Xpress, an introduction to standard video sound and picture editing to both PC and tape.
Completing the visual impact of programmes with dynamic Ids, credit sequences and special effects is the subject of After Effects, taught by Joe Gibson on 10 July.
Sound recording is fundamental and a number of professional sound technicians will speak during the two-day course called Location Sound Recording on 5 and 6 July while the self-explanatory DV Documentary for small or one-man crews will be taught by Holger Mohaupt using a Sony PD150 camera and Final Cut Pro/Avid DV on 28 and 29 June.
Those who prefer the higher quality offered by traditional film stock can enrol for the Bolex Course on 2 and 3 August when they will learn how to load the film, light the set, use exposure meters properly, master the ins and outs of shooting ratios as well as several advanced techniques like single frame, double exposure, superimposing and fading by cameraman David Byrne.
For ulterior information and information about the costs of each of the courses, click on the official web site.
