Balkan films in Munich

114 titles from 30 countries will screen at the 21st Munich Filmfestival from 28 June to 5 July. This year's event will focus on Balkan productions, as well as France and Latin America.
The "Made in Germany" section will see 31 cinema and TV films compete for the best German film of the year, director, screenplay and actor awards.

(House of Fools) by Andrej Konchalovski, who won the Gran Prix of the Jury at the 2002 Venice Film Festival. Eberhardt Hauff, Munich’s new artistic director called this film "an exquisite parable that reflects our world. " Hauff took over from Andreas Max Ströhl in April of this year.
The Cinemerit award will go to actress Geraldine Chaplin . Past honorees include Manoel De Oliveira, Francesco Rosi, Milos Forman and Marin Karmitz.
