NY Times lauds Cinecittà
Today's edition of one of the America's top selling daily newspapers, the New York Times features an article praising the professional skill and competence of Italian film industry craftsmen, and the reasonable costs of making a film at Cinecittà Studios in Rome. Such is their popularity with north American production companies that Cinecittà recently opened offices in New York and Los Angeles.
The article gives a detailed description of the recently remodernised film studio and lists the productions that were made there: Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York, The Passion, Exorcist: the Beginning (the prequel to The Exorcist) and The Lizzle McGuire Movie, the latest Wes Anderson film scheduled to go into production in September.
The article also highlights independent American producers’ interest in Cinecittà Digital, the studio’s post-production department.
