film profile] by Maria Kourkouta and Niki Giannari has won the Best World Documentary Award in the Opus Bonum section at the 20th Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival (25-29 October). The director's feature-length debut, set in the Idomeni refugee camp in March 2016, when 15,000 people got stuck on the Greek-Macedonian border after the "Balkan route" was closed, had its international premiere at the Czech gathering.
In the Between the Seas section, the Best Central and Eastern European Documentary Film Award went to The Dazzling Light of Sunset [+see also:
