, which is due to be released in spring 2018.

Simon Jaquemet already generated buzz in 2015 with his first multi-award-winning film Chrieg (which won the Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis, Max Ophüls Preis 2015 and award for Best Photography at the Swiss Film Awards, among others), the uncompromising portrait of “angry” and rebellious youth. With The Innocents, Jaquemet confirms his interest in cutting and nonconformist subjects. In his latest film he looks at the free churches (Freikirchen), more specifically the link that brings followers together under one and the same roof. The Innocents attempts to give us a portrait of a religious community through the personal story of a women who suddenly finds herself facing her own past. Will her love for Jesus prove stronger than her feelings? An atypical and engaging subject that takes us on an emotional rollercoaster.

For now, there is not much information on the production, but what we know is promising: the main character is played by elegant Swiss actress Judith Hofmann (Rosie [+see also:

, North Wind), while the production side of things is being handled by young Zurich-based company 8horses(which Jaquemet is part of) in partnership (co-production) with German company Augenschein Filmproduktion (also a very young company). With regard to the budget, Aargauer Zeitung puts this at 2.5 million francs. The film is being supported by the Swiss Confederation, Zürcher Filmstiftung, SRF, Teleclub, Arte Germania and ZDF.
