The German Federal Film Board grants production support of €1.69 million

The German Federal Film Board (FFA) has greenlit four feature films with support totalling €1.69 million. Among the filmmakers whose new feature-film projects will be boosted are writer-director Sebastian Schipper (Victoria [+see also:

film profile]) and Patrick Vollrath (Everything Will Be Okay) as well as the animation film director Ute von Münchow-Pohl (Rabbit School – Guardians of the Golden Egg [+see also:

For Schipper’s road movie Roads [+see also:

film profile], which had already secured script funding from the FFA, production company Missing Link Films will receive €450,000. The story is about the friendship between a British 17-year-old and a young teenager from Senegal, who are travelling across Europe together.
A gardener gets ready for take-off with his old plane in As Green as It Gets [+see also:

film profile], which will be directed by Florian Gallenberger. The script was written by Gernot Gricksch, who adapted Jockel Tschiersch’s novel of the same name about a gardener who manages to escape before his plane is repossessed. For this adventure, the FFA has given Majestic Filmproduktion a jump-start of €390,000. Another title set on a plane is Vollrath’s thriller 7500 [+see also:

film profile], about the hijacking of an Airbus A319. Augenschein Filmproduktion has received €350,000 in production support to carry through the project.
Finally, in Die Heinzels – Rückkehr der Heinzelmännchen, Ute von Münchow-Pohl introduces us to a group of busy Brownies, who find their destiny in a confectionary shop in Cologne. Written by Jan Strathmann, the animated film is being produced by Akkord Filmproduktion, which has received €500,000 in production support.
