Lucky Red inks a distribution deal with STXinternational
- Andrea Occhipinti’s company will oversee the Italian release of the films produced and distributed in the USA and the UK by STX; the first title is Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World
All the Money in the World, a movie about the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III, which British director Ridley Scott is currently filming in Rome, and which stars Kevin Spacey, Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg, is to be the first STX title that Lucky Red will release in Italy. Indeed, the company helmed by Andrea Occhipinti, which this year is celebrating 30 years in the business, has closed a multi-year distribution agreement with STXinternational, and will oversee the Italian release of the titles produced and distributed in the USA and the UK by STX. It thus joins the ranks of the many partners of the US company, which covers a total of 150 countries all around the world and can count on a plethora of major distributors (there are 33 partnership agreements currently in force).
“It’s incredibly important for us to close this strategic deal with STX, a company that has the capability to source the quality of films that we need today for our very selective audience, and that guarantees direct distribution in both the USA and the UK,” said Occhipinti.
“Italy is one of the true creative centres of Europe, and it is critically important to STX to have a strong distribution partner in such an important European territory. We are thrilled to have them on board the STX team as we expand our international footprint,” said David Kosse, president of STXinternational, whose offices are headquartered in London.
