Written by Franck Bellock and Vianney Lebasque, the movie tells the true story of the most unlikely sporting scam of the 21st century: in order not to lose a grant from his federation, a coach forms a basketball team made up of players faking that they are intellectually disabled in order to take part in the 2000 Sydney Paralympic Games.
Produced by Jean-Yves Robin and Marc Stanimirovic for Monkey Pack Films, and by Marc-Etienne Schwartz for M.E.S. Productions (which previously staged Les Petits Princes), Team Spirit is being co-produced by M6 Films and SND. Having been pre-purchased by Canal+, Ciné+, M6 and W9, the feature will shoot for 41 days, from 21 July-5 October, in Paris, Bordeaux and Lisbon. SND will be in charge of the French distribution and the international sales.
