Beliën’s triplets

by

Nominated in March for a best short film Oscar for Fait d’hiver, Dirk Beliën begins filming his directorial feature debut today. Given the provisional title of De zuskes Kriegel, and aimed a very young audience, the film is about the (mis)adventures of 11-year-old triplets who cause chaos to break out wherever they go.
Based on the eponymous novel by Marc De Bel with a screenplay by Johan Verschuren, De zuskes Kriegel is about Lien, Sien and Fien Kriegel who amuse themselves in a variety of noxious ways until their desperate parents decide that the only remedy to their antics is boarding school. Terrified, the terrible triplets realise the time has come to show their good side.
Scheduled to wrap on 31 August, De zuskes Kriegel, which stars Evelien Apers, Kathleen Apers and Dorien Jannsens, will be made in and around Brussels, photographed by Philip Van Volsem and produced by Eric Caroen for Frontline. The project received funding from VAF and is due for a domestic release on 3 December by courtesy of Kinepolis Film Distribution.
