Saxony Film Commission set up
Mitteldeutschen Medienförderung (central German media production agency), in collaboration with the local tourist and marketing agencies, has set up a new film commission in Saxony, central Germany. The work of the Film Commission Service will focus on exploiting the film potential of this region and thus contributing to the local economy. One of the Commission’s key activities will be issuing filming permits. "This will allow us to speed up authorisation procedures in the region’s towns and cities, " said MDM head Manfred Schmidt.
The Commission intends creating a film and audiovisual guide to the region, and an online database with information about locations in central Germany.
Federal minister, Stanislaw Tillich, president of the MDM’s watchdog commission also spoke about the advantages the new commission will bring.
