€1.2m ex Vienna Fund

After its most recent committee meeting, the Vienna FilmFund, decided to earmark Euros1.2m for 11 fiction and documentary projects. The chief criterion for selection was the commercial potential of these titles.
The feature films include a contribution towards the distribution of Blackout Journey by Siegfried Kamml, produced by Epo-film, and Der Viertelliterklasse by Roland Düringer for Dor Film.

The Viennese fund will also invest in a number of screenplays: La Paloma Blanca, an historical melodrama written by Rajko Grlic for Nowotny Film and scheduled to become an international co-production. The list includes a drama entitled Katzendkinder (Kittens) written by Sandra Bohle, and Kotsch, a zany comedy about four youngsters, that was written by Gregor Stadlober. Lotus Film is producing both films. Another beneficiary is White Clouds Island is the story of a young Inuit woman was written by Elisabeth Guggenberger and Helmut Voitl for Wega Film.
The Fund’s projects also include financial support for three Allegro Film productions: a comedy, Wolke 7 (Cloud 7), directed by Michel Gromme, Die Konferenz (The Conference) – about the ’75 attack on OPEC, with a screenplay by Florian Flicker and Thomas Braun, and Twinni directed by Ulricke Schweiger.
