film profile] are music teacher Ania (Agnieszka Więdłocha) and TV show host Tomek (Maciej Stuhr), who met via a dating app. While the first film offered the couple a happy ending, in the sequel, trouble starts to loom on the horizon. Ania wants to have a serious, committed relationship, while Tomek does not, and things get even more complicated when the handsome man who invented the dating app appears in Warsaw and shows a romantic interest in Ania.
The script for Planet Single 2 was written by Sam Akina (who is also directing it) and Jules Jones – the duo also co-penned the first film with Mitja Okorn, Łukasz Światowiec, Michał Chaciński, Peter Pasyk and Radosław Drabik. Chaciński and Drabik are producing the movie through their company, Gigant Films. Also returning are actors Weronika Książkiewicz, Tomasz Karolak, Piotr Głowacki, Joanna Jarmołowicz and Danuta Stenka.
The shoot for Planet Single 2 started on 10 March in Warsaw and is scheduled to end on 17 May. The producers have also revealed that work on the set of Planet Single 3 will begin in June 2018.
Planet Single 2 is set to open in local theatres on 9 November, and the next film is scheduled to be released on 8 February 2019. The Polish distributor of both films is Kino Świat, and the world sales rights are available. The first Planet Single premiered in Polish cinemas in 2016 and took almost two million admissions to become the second most popular Polish film of the year.
