ICAA helps 15 new directors

Spain’s Film and Audiovisual Arts Institute - ICAA - will contribute €2.5m to 15 feature film projects by young directors. The selection was by a committee of experts according to the respective projects artistic merits, the degree of difficulty involved in producing them and the financial backing already in place.
Seven features received the maximum grant of €210,000: Esperarè por ti (que llueva cafè), directed by Pedro Perez Rosado and produced by his Perez Rosado Producciones; Ouija by Juan Pedro Ortega, co-produced by Catalonia’s Eleven Dream and the Basque Country’s Ibarrext Co and Quince diàs by Juan Ramirez Ponce, produced by Madrid-based Bailande en la Luna.
The following films also received ICAA support: Giverny by Raymond Masllorens, co-produced by Bausan Films and La Productora, received €200,000; Sud-Express by José Maria de la Peña, produced by Artimaña Producciones received €150,000 and Sindrome by Liberto Rabal and produced by Zebra Producciones received €145,000. The smallest grant of €60,000 went to Eduardo Garcìa Maroto by Luis Mamerto Lopez, co-produced by Poker F and Taller Videografico.
