Teutons fund Chabrol

by

The FilmFernsehFond Bayer (FFF-Bayern) has earmarked €4.4m for 33 film and TV projects including €300,000 for veteran French director, Claude Chabrol’s latest feature, La Demoiselle d’honneur. Based on Ruth Rendell’s best-selling mystery novel, “The Bridesmaid”, this film will go into production in October, with Munich as one of the locations. Alfred Humer’s Integral Film is producing. Meanwhile Chabrol’s The Flower of Evil is scheduled for a Teutonic release on 24 July.
Other recipients of FilmFernsehFond Bayer's largesse include Summer Storm, the second feature by Marco Kreutzpaintner after the critically acclaimed Ganz und Gar, and Sandra Nettelbeck's "animalistic comedy", Sergeant Pepper.
The FFF-Bayern lent its support to the German distribution of the following titles: Jetser Till, an animated feature by Eberhard Junkersdorf, produced by Animations Highlight; Eric Till’s historical drama, Luther, starring Joseph Fiennes and Sir Peter Ustinov; Margarethe Von Trotta’s Rosenstraße and Desire, winner of this year’s Locarno Film Festival, directed in Germany by Scotland’s Ian Dilthey.
