DISTRIBUTION Belgium

Lumière for arthouse cinema

by

Film producers Jan De Clercq and Alexander Vandeputte and exhibitors (they own the Lumière Cinema in Bruges) have entered the Belgian theatrical distribution arena with a company called Lumière. One of their most recent productions, Meisje directed by Dorothée van den Berghe, is doing good business at the domestic box office right now.
This is a return to the two business partners’ professional roots since De Clercq is a former employee of Cinéart and Vandeputte worked for Classic Films.
Lumière will begin by releasing three features: The Angel on the Right by Djamshed Usmonov (co-produced by Tadzikistan, Italy, Switzerland and France), La Meglio Gioventù [+see also:

by Italy’s Marco Tullio Giordana and Mille Mois by Faouzi Bensaidi (co-produced by France, Belgium and Morocco).
